We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator with a BS degree in construction management, civil/structural engineering, or equivalent to join our team, preferably with 5 years of experience in an estimating position.

Ability to review construction documents at various design phases with specific responsibility to do the following:

  • Select required vendors needed for solicitation
  • Identify key elements of a project
  • Determine items to clarify with design team
  • Project duration/scheduling to determine overall calendar day duration of project
  • Determine successful strategies to increase chance of award

Attend, and lead when required, meetings related to bidding process (pre-bids, existing building review, subcontractor coordination, etc.)
Estimating activities such as:

  • Quantity takeoffs and/or supervision of same
  • General conditions estimate
  • Specific takeoff ability in site work, concrete, and masonry trades
  • Fielding questions from vendors
  • Management and review of bid solicitation by other department staff

Ability to fully lead bid team on bid day including input of vendor pricing, review of vendor proposals for all required trade specific requirements, identification of vendor exclusions
iSqFt bid solicitation software (preferred not required)
Knowledge of New Orleans area subcontractors (preferred not required)
Value Engineering experience
Working knowledge of AIA contracts and ability to review Supplementary Conditions or other general conditions that need to be qualified or discussed with architect/owner
Contribute to preconstruction activities such as budget estimating at all design phases, meetings with design team/clients, obtaining participation from vendors for specific trade assistance, etc.
