Construction of the Oretha Castle Haley School Redevelopment began in February and will be completed by the end of the year. The project consists of the historic revitalization of an existing 4-story, 37,000 square foot masonry and timber former schoolhouse in the St. Roch neighborhood. It will be developed into 37 residences for tenants ages 55 and up. The development will also include community spaces on the ground floor such as a leasing office, a gym, commons, and public restrooms, as well as a small patio and community garden for tenants.

Through a partnership with Renaissance Property Group, a valued repeat client, and Rome Office, FH Myers is helping the Owner take advantage of historic tax credits. These apply to the wood window restoration, restoration of wood flooring in corridors on the second and third floors, and refurbishment of existing interior and exterior plaster. We are excited to be a team member on this important project, as it aligns with our goal of teaming on projects that meet a community need.
