Woman’s New Life Center

New Orleans, Louisiana

Architect:  HMS Architects
Physical Location: 4612 S. Claiborne Ave, New Orleans, LA 70125

Woman’s New Life Center is a two-story, 6,130 square foot newly constructed clinic. It provides an array of professional services to help and support women in need of medical, emotional, practical, material and integral services in the New Orleans Metro Area.

The exterior façade consists of an aluminum curtainwall system at the front of the building, decorative CMU block along the sides, and a pre-finished metal wall panel system at the rear. The focal point of the building is the aluminum curtainwall system and roof clearstory that allows natural light into the building. Due to the site constraints and lack of parking around the clinic, the first floor of the building was designed to allow parking for employees and patients. At the rear of the building, a permeable paving and underground detention basin was installed to allow the storage of underground storm water to ultimately infiltrate into the ground. The building operations are conducted on the second floor. The interior of the building consists of a chapel, administrative offices, exam rooms, and counseling accommodations to help service all patients in need.
